Greetings! I am Chaplain (Colonel) William Sean Lee, the Maryland National Guard Joint Force Headquarters Chaplain. On behalf of Brigadier General (MD) Adkins, The Adjutant General, my mission is to ensure religious support for all Maryland National Guard warriors and family members. A team of dedicated Maryland National Guard Chaplains and assistants works with me to plan and provide this religious and spiritual support.  Our chaplains and assistants can also provide religious and spiritual support that understands the "military dimension" because we are also all in the National Guard. Feel free to call on us at any time for support, counsel and understanding. You can reach us through the Family Support Program Office, or call me at 410-576-6124.

MESSAGE FROM CHAPLAIN LEE FOR SEPTEMBER 2008

"Back to school is the theme in many homes this time of year. It can be exciting for many children and teens to return to school; however it can be intimidating for others. getting all the clothes and supplies can be an expensive endeavor for the parents, too. The joy and anticipation of learning, making new friends and moving forward toward greater opportunities in life can make this time of year a real highlight for many families.

Learning is not just for children and teens though; we can continue to learn for all our lives if we are open to the possibility. Maybe all of us can remember the excitement of a new school year and take that anticipation into each day. Doing so will allow us to receive the relationships and duties of the day with a mind and heart that understands human growth continues for a lifetime.

If you are experiencing the 'lessons of life' and need help discerning what their meaning might be, remember to draw on your faith and faith community, or contact your unit Chaplain or my office at 410-576-6124 for help with the 'homework.'
