 WHAT'S NEW

BOOK COOK
Do you and your kids like Green Eggs and Ham?  Have either of you ever given a Moose a Muffin?  You and your children are invited to come to the Book Cook at Fort Meade, the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 10-12pm, at the Community Readiness Center,  830 Chisholm Avenue, Fort Meade, MD 20755.

Book Cook is a hands-on reading experience for Children of all ages and their parents.  Every meeting a different book is read and either a treat is enjoyed or a craft made relating to the book.  The Children will be given a scrapbook to fill with a recipe of the treat or craft from the book.  The next Book Cook is 13 November. And it's always free!

For further information, contact the MWR Center at Ft. Meade – or check the MWR office at a post nearest you for similar activities [see the contact information posted in this MWR section.]

Speak Out for Military Kids
This project encourages children of Service Members to become spokespeople in their communities and talk about their experiences about being children of mothers or fathers who are serving in the military.   The teens were divided into two groups to create a presentation.  Both groups created charts listing the pros and cons of being a military child.  One group created an entertaining skit about 4-H/OMK has to offer.  The other group created  a presentation, using the digital technology lab.  The presentation can be viewed by
